Zumio is rechargeable by simply inserting it into the stand-up charging base provided (either direction works). The charging base is powered via a standard USB to micro-USB cable that is provided with the product.

When the product is inserted into the charger, the charging base has a blinking LED. Zumio can be removed and used at any time during the charging cycle.

Zumio uses a “freedom charging technology” that does not tie you down to specific full charge cycles. It is perfectly okay to leave Zumio in the charger it will automatically shut off the charging circuit after 16 hours. Simply charge Zumio for at least 4 hours or as long as you would like.  Typically, overnight 12 hours is a good length of charging time to give you plenty of use before needing a recharge. The flashing LED on the charger indicates the charging is working and everything is fine.

The charging circuit will shut off automatically after 16 hours of uninterrupted charging and the LED will stop flashing and remain on steady as long as you leave Zumio in the charger (For days or months is fine, like cordless phones left on their cradles).  Zumio only starts charging again when you remove and replace the Zumio unit back into the charger where it will charge for another 16 hours then the electronics will stop charging again until Zumio is removed.
